Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Four Arrested

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 193 calls for service for the period March 7 through March 15. Year-to-date, the LCSO has responded to 2,091 calls for service.

Arrests

Joshua A. Russell, 57, Newcastle was arrested on March 7 for operating under the influence, on Gardiner Road, Dresden, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.

Alexandra L. Petersen, 22, of Jefferson was arrested on March 11 for assault aggravated by domestic violence, on Phillips Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.

Edward Poch, 64, of Whitefield was arrested on March 12 for domestic violence; Criminal threat with dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm when prohibited, on Hunts Meadow Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Matthew Ryan, assisted by numerous deputies and state constables at the scene.

Matthew D. Donahue, 40, of Bristol was arrested on March 12 for operating under the influence – Front 1, in Bristol Road, Bristol, by Detective Scott Hayden.

Accidents

On March 8, an accident occurred on Academy Hill Road in Newcastle involving Emma A. Elwell, 18, from Whitefield and Olivia L. Stiles, 17, from Walpole. Ms Stiles was trying to pull her 2014 Volkswagen Passat into the parking space next to Elwell’s 2016 Subaru Forester in the Lincoln Academy parking lot and her front passenger side bumper hit Elwell’s parked vehicle . Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigator.

On March 10, an accident occurred on North Mountain Road in Jefferson involving 17-year-old Nathaniel Solorzano of Jefferson. Mr. Solorzano was driving his 2013 Ford Explorer southbound when he encountered deer on the road. Solorzano swerved to avoid the deer and left the roadway. He then overcorrected, crossed the pavement and moved off the road and into the trees. Lieutenant Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.

On March 10, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Faye Hauck, 74, of Waldoboro and Richard E. Legere, 64, of Gorham. Ms. Hauck was driving her 2005 Chevrolet Equinox southbound on Highway 1 and Mr. Legere was driving his 2019 Freightliner truck southbound in the merge lane on Highway 1 from Highway 27, attempting to turn right onto Englebrekt Road. Legere did not yield to Hauck’s vehicle as it crossed the southbound lane. As a result, Legere’s vehicle struck Hauck’s vehicle in the rear driver’s door with its passenger wheel. Ms. Hauck’s vehicle then spun 180 degrees and came to rest, facing north. Lieutenant Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.

On March 11, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving 24-year-old Shania R. St. Pierre of Augusta. Ms. St. Pierre was driving her 2016 Nissan Sentra southbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigator.

On March 11, an accident occurred on Upper East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Robert J. Harper, 30, of Nobleboro. Mr. Harper was driving his 2004 Chevrolet 2500 southbound when he swerved to avoid deer on the road. Harper overcorrected and lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway and hit a utility pole, breaking the pole. Lieutenant Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
