Any NL Reader | LancasterOnline and its predecessors over the past 60 years have noticed significant changes in format. Previously, we had two newspapers, one in the morning and one in the evening. Its sections of opinion each had their own political orientation.

Now NL | LancasterOnline has evolved into a single edition. The emphasis is on local news. NL | LancasterOnline does a great job covering local events and local sports, but, in my opinion, it’s not so great with national and world news or professional sports coverage. Naturally, the latter is sufficiently covered by the audiovisual media.

NLP | LancasterOnline’s Opinion section publishes readers’ comments on a wide variety of topics.

However, when the newspaper publishes articles from The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Associated Press, they appear to be direct talking points of the Democratic National Committee.

In my opinion, most opinion columnists are hard on the left, as is the LNP | Editorials from Lancaster Online. The few published conservative columnists are lukewarm spokespersons.

Know where NL | LancasterOnline is standing we can live with. I believe that real journalism is dead. One change I’d like to see though, is the revival of the “How They Voted” synopsis, so we can see what our elected officials are actually doing.
