The Presidency reacted to a video of terrorists threatening to kidnap President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Naija News previously reported that the terrorists, who abducted more than 60 passengers from the Abuja Kaduna train on March 28, also threatened to destroy the country, kill the remaining passengers in their custody and sell the others.
The President’s Senior Special Assistant for Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement on Sunday, said the security agencies were not giving in to their mission.
The statement titled “Latest Terrorist Propaganda and Military Preparedness” said in part: “Terrorist activity using propaganda and the use of violence to force governments to accept or submit to political demands is not news around the world.
“The country’s security and defense forces are neither helpless nor powerless. They have their plans and their ways that they won’t show in the media.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, attacked Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naija News reports that Atiku and Tinubu recently engaged in a war of words following Friday’s old interview on Arise TV.
Atiku accused Tinubu of wanting to be his running mate in 2007, but he rejected it because of the Muslim-Muslim ticket.
But Tinubu hit back, saying Atiku pressured him to be his running mate in 2007, just like he wanted to be MKO Abiola’s running mate in 1993.
In another statement released to reporters on Sunday by Atiku Abubakar’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, said Tinubu’s memory may not be what it used to be.
He wondered if Tinubu could forget the name of his political party, why wouldn’t he also forget what happened in 2007 and 2015.
A First Republic aviation minister, Mbazulike Amechi, has claimed that Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has a clean criminal record, which is why he has not been arrested or prosecuted by any anti-corruption agency.

The photo, shared via his Twitter page on Sunday, also has his wife, Ms Dolapo Osinbajo and hospital staff in the frame.
The Vice President appreciated the hospital staff and all supporters for the “recovery” messages he received.
Osinbajo took the opportunity to thank Nigerians and others who wished him a quick and speedy recovery.

Naija News understands that the academician is the elder brother of Senator Ademola Adeleke who defeated incumbent Governor of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola in the recently conducted gubernatorial election in the state.
Dr Deji, speaking at Adeleke University’s 8th Undergraduate Convocation and 4th Postgraduate Convocation over the weekend, said the Governor-elect had no reason to disappoint people who elected him to power.
He said Adeleke is not answerable to any godfather and therefore is not under pressure to loot the state purse to feed the political godfather.
The academician added that it is enough for the governor-elect to focus on good governance, saying that he advised him (Ademola) and his team that anyone whose interest is to steal state resources is not allowed to be part of the firm.
Dotun Babayemi, an aggrieved former gubernatorial aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, has been warned by the party not to take legal action against the candidacy of Governor-elect Ademola Adeleke.
Recall that the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure last week declared Adeleke as a valid candidate of the PDP.
Babayemi who participated in another party primary in Osun State had contested the primary which produced Adeleke as the PDP candidate.
Acting Osun PDP Chairman Akindele Adekunle in a statement released regarding Babayemi’s action said that “the primary that produced Senator Adeleke fulfilled all applicable legal regulations and requirements in accordance with the Election Law , among others.

In a new one-minute video, the terrorists are seen whipping some of the abducted victims on the train bound for Kaduna on March 28, 2022.
The terrorists also threatened to kidnap and kill President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have reacted to the United Nations (UN) directive to the government led by President Muhammadu Buhari to release its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The IPOB, in its reaction, praised the UN for calling for Kanu’s unconditional release.
The group said the UN notice indicted the Nigerian and Kenyan governments for the kidnapping of the IPOB leader.
The IPOB, in the statement issued on Sunday, expressed hope that the Nigerian government would comply with the UN directive and release Kanu.
Recall that the UN Council Working Group on Arbitrary Detention on Saturday called on the Buhari government to release Kanu unconditionally.
